This is one of those articles that seeks to reassure readers that nothing important is changing. Such articles are always popular. It begins, "There's a conversation we were supposed to be having about AI in education. It was about curriculum design. About giving teachers the training and support they actually need... (etc.)." And it wraps up, "The question is whether we'll give teachers the preparation they need to help students navigate all of this thoughtfully." There's a bunch of stuff about AI in the middle, but none of it matters. Because nothing about teaching will really change through all of this; it's just another tool, like a new radial arm saw or electron microscope. Except.... nothing about the (former) job of teaching will be the same after all this is done.
