If like me you followed along as the Ghost Activity Pug team implemented Activity Pub in their product and wondered why it took so long, this article is a clear-as-crystal account of why. The world of Activity Pub is a world of vagueness, confusion and contradiction as each service implements things its own way. The solution proposed - and which Ghost eventually settled on - is Fedify, a Node-based Typescript framework that does all the interpretation for you. That's great - but now the fediverse becomes a platform with a single point of failure (which in the Node world is extremely likely).
