Knowledge, Learning, Community

As the title suggests, Jisc is committing its 'Publications Router' (archive) to open source. "Router is a service that populates repositories automatically by capturing article notifications, often including the full text and other files, and then matching and delivering them to the repositories or CRISs of the institutions to which the authors are affiliated." It's the sort of thing that would have been useful to the wider community (and I'm not sure why Jisc is discontinuing it) and would no be much more likely to survive had it nurtured a supportive open source community around it. Even in its current form, it's just a document dump; though owned by Jisc "source code is not supported or maintained by Jisc. Issues and Pull Requests will not be monitored or responded to." There's also no word on whether contributing publications will continue to provide feeds.
