This is an announcement from Bluesky stating that the social network service will begin age verification in compliance with UK law. It describes several methods that will be accepted using Epic Games' Kids Web Services (KWS), including credit card payments, ID scan, or in some cases, country-specific ID verification. Unverified users can still use Bluesky but won't be shown adult content and won't have access to direct messaging. Obviously this has implications for privacy, and each society will have to make the decision for itself how to balance anonymity and security, because as of yet, there's no way to verify age without disclosing identity.
