I think we can all say that a small percentage of Africa's 450 million children are using the internet for education during the pandemic, if only because few of them have any access at all. This article, though, is based on some pretty weak research, equating as it does "children learning via internet" with "use of edtech products serving African countries." There are many educational uses of the internet that have nothing to do with these products (the form of the study reminds me of old studies equating 'number of people reading' with 'books bought'). This article as a whole is very much product-centered, which is just not the way to understand online learning, whether in Africa or not.
