The idea is that it automates the process of creating accessible, adaptive color systems using contrast-ratio based generated colors (much more on this here). As anyone with limited vision will tell you, your colour schemes are important, as they make the difference between an application or website that is easy to read and one that is a meaningless blur. The tool is open source, and you can modify it yourself, but even better, it allows you to share schemas you've developed as a simple standardized URL.
