Project Connected Home over IP

I learned via TWIG this morning about the Connected Home over IP (CHIP) project. Normally I wouldn't report on Yet Another Standards project but this one has Amazon, Apple, Google, IKEA, Legrand, NXP, Resideo, Samsung, Schneider Electric, and Signify (formerly Philips Lighting) all taking part. So this might mean that we're finally getting a unified Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem (about a decade after people started saying this would be a good idea).
