This report, an annual summary of emerging technologies CRLFreleased by the New Media Consortium, includes learning CRLFobjects as among the technologies to watch, especially this CRLFyear (it is worth noting that NMC also has a separate learning object initiative). The CRLFdiscussion is a bit light and is focussed on the National CRLFLearning Infrastructure Initiative (NLII) approach to the CRLFsubject. The report also discusses other emerging CRLFtechnologies such as multimodal interfaces, context aware CRLFcomputing, and the knowledge web. Even though lightly CRLFtouched, I think they're hitting on exactly the right CRLFpoints. PDF file.
