I am of the same opinion as Kyle James - despite some companies' desires to create a private marketplace only for themselves (you know who) the specialized app marketplace will fade. "With the introduction of HTML5 it is only a matter of time before the smart mobile web is good enough to easily and quickly do everything you need without installing a dozen apps to do each individual thing." The same thing, he notes, happened in the 1990s - we have specialized programs fopr each task and ran them off our desktop - but after the dot com bust more and more of our work took place in the online environment.
