If you really have no clue about what is meant by 'information architecture' then this PDF document (about 6 pages, a bit of a download but one of few worthwhile uses for this format) is for you. The basic concepts of the discipline are trasnformed using comic book (or graphic novel, as they're more properly called) design. The result is a readable, concise and pleasingly accurate description.
