Continuing an ongoing conversation with Ken De Rosa (which can be very frustrating at times, because his understanding of knowledge and inference is radically different from my own) I had the opportunity to review this site on Engelmann's work on direct instruction. It's definitely worth a look - though I must confess that the examples left me more convinced of my criticisms of Engelmann than anything else. I wish I could link to additional modules from this course, but they are blocked by a login.
