It is apparently illegal to test public wireless networks for security flaws, even if you're a security expert. Seems to me there is a big flaw in this legislation, one that encourages people to keep wuiet about security flaws. Jargon note: "war driving" is the act of driving around with wireless receiving equipment seeking accessible wireless LANS. Second jargon note: "ethical hacking" is the act of hacking not for personal gain but to test systems for security.
