The first issue of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Newsletter is released to describe background and preparations for the summits (slated for Geneva in 2003 and Tunis in 2005). The summits follow from a UnitedNations resolution from December, 2001, and are intended to look at "various issues" regarding the information society and particularly its role in world development. The newsletter is in PDF format with working links to a wide variety of background papers, supporting initiatives and more. You can order the newsletter by email or access it directly on the web.
