Just remember - 'open and distributed' means authority figures lose the ability to tell people what and how they should learn, which means recasting what is understood by 'individualization' and 'responsibility'. Open and distributed means far more than this: "any time a student learns at least in part at a supervised brick-and-mortar location away from home and at least in part through online delivery with some element of student control..."
