Italy: Teachers' Manifesto
Claude Almansi, educational technology & change, July 18, 2010.

Claude Almansi writes, "A very active, committed group of Italian teachers have gathered around / within the La scuola che funziona initiative, where they work together on very concrete teaching projects and issues... they have also published a Manifesto about the role and commitments of teachers..." It's the sort of manifesto I can support - it's about teaching by example, empowering students, and making the world a classroom. Here's the Italian version of the Manifesto, and here's the English version. (Hits Today: 1 Total: 1043) [Direct Link] [Tags: Books, Project Based Learning]

Re: Italy: Teachers' Manifesto

Oh, really glad you stumbled upon our Manifesto and even more glad you like it.

My committment to the La Scuola Che Funziona has very much to do with my understanding of connectivism and what I felt by participating in CCK08.

Thanks and let's keep walking in the forest ...

Re: Italy: Teachers' Manifesto

And I'm glad if my ETC Journal post has been a kind of bridge between the original Italian teachers' manifesto and you, Stephem: like Andreas, I owe you what I understand of connectivism, and acvess to so many stimulating resources you describe in your blog and newsletter.

The participants in the la scuola che funziona initiative, who wrote the Manifesto, would now like to add to it other translations (apart from Luciana Guido's English one, there's already a French one) and to open signing the Manifesto to people who do not reside in Italy.

So if any reader of this comment would like to translate the Manifesto, could s/he please join http://www.lascuolachefunziona.it to contact the original authors about this translation? [Comment] [Permalink] [Previous][Next]
