Re: 2008 Beijing Olympics
I'm not surprised; they've been building up to this for a long time.
They will also get the most medals at the 2012 Olympics in London. [Comment]

Re: 2008 Beijing Olympics
China has been politically and economically isolated by Western countries and their allies for many years. Its culture is not known much by outsiders therefore you will find many ignorant comments on the Internet against China.
If it is not the isolation that lasted for about half a century and that China was not given an equal opportunity to compete with other countries economically, China's success would be many folds better than today's. I am happy to see that China is getting richer and I believe that Chinese people will eventually get their living standard enhanced and more Chinese will get better education, employment and health care for their lives.
Olympics to me is an opportunity for athletes of different countries to compete with each other fairly. It is a wicked thing that some people and media have used it as a chance to attack other people base on their prejudice and racial hatred. [Comment]
