This update has a couple longer items up top and a bunch of shorter items in the tail. The top item concerns the publication of a consultation on a new quality assessment system from the Office for Students (OfS). According to the document, "Equality of opportunity would be embedded in the new approach, with an aim to ensure that students from all backgrounds can experience high quality education and achieve positive outcomes." Mosley also references "some refinements to the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE)" and comments "it would be wise to give more serious consideration to the role online learning can play in its (the government's) agenda." But most notably, Mosley reports that "Anthology, the company behind Blackboard, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the US." Not surprising, given its financial structure, but still....
