Students Find Free Online Lectures Better Than What They're Paying For

This is one of those articles that challenges the long-touted benefits of an in-person education by citing concrete examples where an online version is better than the 'real' thing (kudos to the Chronicle for running it). "The lectures are livelier than textbooks. They provide the sense of a human touch, though they lack the interactivity of a tutor. But mainly they're free and available 24 hours a day." Jeffrey R. Young, Chronicle of Higher Education, November 6, 2009. [Link] [Tags: none] [Previous][Next]

Kudos to Chronicle for writing a "news" article about something students have been doing for 6 years? [Comment] [Permalink] [Previous][Next]

It's taken the Chronicle six years to get to the point where they are able to write this article. That deserves some mention. [Comment] [Permalink] [Previous][Next]
