The 'Open Screed Project' is an initiative from Adobe that is "...collaboration of over 20 companies with one clear vision: enabling users to access, consume, and share rich content seamlessly across multiple screens - regardless of the devices, operating systems, browsers, or networks used." Because they control the hardware, Apple can say "no thanks" to the Flash player on the iPhone and Google can do the same with the mobile Android OS. I am no big fan of Adobe, but people should really heed this warning about what happens when software companies control the hardware. Realted: see Tom Hoffman, App Store = Android Market = Ubuntu Repository.
