I just finished reading William Gibson's Pattern Recognition. Recommended; Gibson's most accessible novel in years. Among other gems, this: "You 'know' in your limbic brain. The seat of instinct. The mammalian brain. Deeper, wider, beyond logic. That is where advertising works, not in the upstart cortex." Fortunately, it's not an exact science (yet) as these ten examples illustrate. I've been a William Gibson fan for many years but Pattern Recognition took him to a new place and it is for me the best book Gibson has ever written. I've read it a couple of times now and it is like the days first coffee : you wish it would never end. [Comment] [Permalink]
