Once again we are seeing an object lesson on why it's unwise to build your product on someone else's proprietary technology. As described by the Verge, "Developers will be charged a flat rate based on how many times their game is installed, no matter if that install is attached to a sale." Kotaku notes "The news was met with fear, anger, and disgust from the game development community. The primary complaint is that these changes would be particularly harmful to solo, indie, marginalized, and mobile developers." New Evidence on the Value of One-Size-Fits-All Instruction

This title notwithstanding, this article is mostly a review of a math teaching tool called ASSISTments, first developed in 2003 and chugging along since then. It reference some recent in-house studies like this one suggesting "the 3,000 students who had used ASSISTments in seventh grade outperformed 3,000 peers who hadn't." This, of course, is far from proof of the value of one-size-fits-all instruction. But the main appeal seems to be this, in any case: "One-size-fits-all instruction may not be perfect, but it keeps the humans in the picture."

OpenAI Releases Educators' Guide for Teaching With AI -- Campus Technology

The resource - located here - "includes prompt ideas, how ChatGPT works and its limitations, ChatGPT effectiveness, and issues of bias." I love 'prompt D' in the Guide: "Create an AI tutor". It begins, "You are an upbeat, encouraging tutor who helps students understand concepts by explaining ideas and asking students questions. Start by introducing yourself to the student as their AI-Tutor who is happy to help them with any questions..."
