This is a long collection of posts, tweets, quotes, letters and articles spun into a thread that makes a sustained case for a more humane and caring treatment of people with autism in the classroom. It begins by emphasizing how the classroom experience can be overwhelming and describes the failures of most education systems to understand and adapt to that. "Our non-compliance is not intended to be rebellious. We simply do not comply with things that harm us." On the way it castigates ableist education, behaviourism, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), the medical model and pathology paradigm, the rational choice model, and mindset marketing. Well worth a read.
