Overview to the Fundamentals of Lesson Planning


This section is designed to teach you the fundamentals of lesson planning. Remember if you fail to plan, you'll plan to fail. This is especially true when teaching adults. If you have already completed the section of adult learners, you should be acutely aware of their needs and expectations. Adult learners are experienced tough-minded educational consumers who lead busy lives. They will not tolerate instructors who have not prepared and planned their lesson and courses.

The objectives for this section are

  • Learners will be able to understand the fundamentals of lesson planning
    1. Learners will be able to read a course outline as it relates to lesson planning
    2. Learners will be able to design lessons
    3. Learners will be able to develop lessons
    4. Learners will be able to write a lesson plan
    5. Learners will be able to teach the lesson-as-planned
    6. Learners will be able to evaluate the lesson-as-planned and lesson-as-taught
    7. Learners will discover the relationship between planning and teaching
