"Stop agonizing about your syllabus policy and start helping students use AI to extend, not replace, their thinking." * Encourage students to question how ChatGPT and other AI tools know anything. * Require AI and students to take turns “fact-checking” one another. * Encourage students and AI to experiment and follow up. * Ask students and AI to formulate problems, not answers. * Prompt students and AI bots to take turns extending one another’s “limits“.

"Most of the institutions in the fledgling consortium, striving to redesign their way to a more secure future, would do so by reducing the number of academic credits they require from the typical 120 to as low as 90." ~I'm not sure that is solving anything, frankly. Wrong conversation. Ostensibly, the same issues exist, just in a shorter format: Degree programs predicated on outdated curricula; calendar-based format; Carnegie seat time metrics; outdated grade schema; horrible credit articulation from community colleges, and on and on. Lopping off one year may save a little money, but since most students now take 6 years (and roughly less than 70% finish), I'm not sure the cost savings really amount to much. If they are serious they should be looking at CBL.
