Digital Saskatchewan

This is the kind of project I love, the kind of thing I think makes the web insanely great. Digital Saskatechewan is an image library of some 7,000 photos created by and for the students and teachers of Saskatchewan. Most photos are offered under a Creative Commons license; the rest are public domain. They are, of course, not professional photographs - but then, professional photos of beekeeping in Saskatchewan, or the village of Bjorkville, are increasingly difficult to find. If you ask me, it is the students and teachers of Saskatchewan, and people like them, that represent the future of education on the internet, not the closed and proprietary content libraries publishers are trying to sell us.
