Notes Page for Slide OBJ-N6

Lesson objectives primarily focus on what learners should be able to do by the end of the lesson (course or program).

Learners should be able to demonstrate what they have learned. Objectives should be set within the context of the course goals and objectives so that there is a sense of continuity between the course and the lesson. Read each of the purposes of objectives and think about how each of them relate to baseball. If the baseball players know the objectives of the game or the objectives of the various practices, how will that:

  • Stimulate the coaches and players thinking about improving the game , improving future practices, or improving the players?
  • Guide the coaches in planning practices?
  • Convey the intention of any instruction to the players?
  • Develop plans for the transfer-of-learning to other parts of the game or other games?

Once you have answer to these questions in relation to a baseball practice, can you now transfer these answers to lesson planning?
