The striped circle

After the objectives, lesson content, teaching strategies, and evaluation are selected, the lesson must be furthered developed.

  • The lesson’s content must be sequenced
  • The transfer of learning conditions must be determined. These may be connected to other classes, other programs, the world outside the classroom, or every day living. Don’t assume that learners will make the connections without your help.
  • The teaching strategy must be adapted to the lesson. How will the strategy be used in this lesson? The strategy must be organized around learners, content, classroom and limited class time.
  • Each of the activities of the lesson must be allotted time.
  • The instructional materials must be chosen.
  • The instructional materials must be assembled
  • The evaluation of learning must be prepared. This could mean that oral questions are prepared, an assignment is prepared for class to do, or maybe a quiz is prepared for later.

The circle is a metaphor for a process that does not begin or end in any one place.
