Why Twitter Should Think Twice About Bulldozing the Ecosystem
Mathew Ingram, GigaOm, March 13, 2011.

files/images/3922769600_6ba6363e7d_z.pngw300h200, size: 133420 bytes, type: The lesson here is the same lesson it always is: at a certain point, companies become corporations and abandon whatever values they had, and focus exclusively on making money. In a human we would call this behaviour psychotic; in a corporation we call it required by law. Thus it is with Twitter. Which is why now we see Twitter maximizing its own position. "Anyone who is still under the impression that Twitter is the friendly, touchy-feely company that co-founder Evan Williams used to run is living in a dream world." Only one logic mow protects Twitter developers - that Twitter might harm itself by nuking the developersphere. This logic will not hold. Twitter will bulldoze through them, app by app. In order to maximize profits.
