International Student Enrolments Continue to Grow Australian Education International has released the 2005 annual set of statistics on international students studying in Australia on student visas. AEI's data shows continuing growth in the number of international student enrolments in Australia. Asia remains Australia's main source of international students - continuing high growth is occurring from China, India and South Korea. The highest proportion of international student enrolments in 2005 was in the higher education sector, but the vocational and technical education sector had the largest increase during 2005. Comments at last James was ribbing me a few weeks back, about not having comments on this blog. So....comments there are! But more than that. Nataly (who programs this site) has applied the same structure to the resource records in the main site, and extended the reviews section so that you can add your own review. There's even an RSS feed so I can keep an eye and remove the inevitable occasional vandalism. Really nice. To be honest, I don't know what proportion of Chalkface's customers will choose to write reviews. We had a From Chalkface: Blog on March 1, 2006 at 5:30 p.m..

Wave of good new sounds at etree.org There a whole wave of new bands and new performances up at etree.org, best of all, it's free and legal too. I'm a geek not a musical, but sites like etree give me confidence in what my creative commons friends keep telling me: We need copyright. Contributions Invited for PictureAustralia In an exciting initiative to increase the number of contemporary images in PictureAustralia, people are invited to submit their photographs by loading them on FlickR, www.flickr.com, a global online repository where photographic images can be uploaded, stored and shared. There are two categories - PictureAustralia: Australia Day and PictureAustralia: People, places and events. Images are then able to be added to the PictureAustralia national collection. What Can the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children Tell Us About Infants' and 4 to 5 Year Olds' Experiences of Early Childhood Education and Care? The Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC) is concerned with documenting the breadth of children's early experiences both inside and outside the family in order to understand the factors that provide the foundation for children's development across the childhood years. This paper investigates Australian children's participation in early childhood education and care programs - from formal, government-regulated centre- and home-based child care settings to various informal, unregulated arrangements including care by grandparents, friends, or nannies.
