Premier's Reading Challenge 2006/2007 Start - NSW The Premier of NSW, the Hon Bob Carr, instituted the Premier's Reading Challenge to encourage a love of reading. The Challenge is open to students who are in Years 2 to 8 inclusive in NSW Government or non-Government schools or the equivalent in home schooling and accredited Australian International schools. To receive a certificate, students must read 20 books in a one-year cycle. Fifteen of the books must be on the Premier's Reading Challenge list.
