Commonwealth Environment Research Facilities Programme (CERF) The national programme supports world class environmental research. The fund supports research on the significant environmental challenges Australia faces, drawing on multiple disciplines, collaboration and existing research strengths. The CERF is aimed at creating national research hubs and building critical mass in areas of Australia's environmental strengths and national research priorities. The CERF specially supports proposals that demonstrates strong public good outcomes. Under this programme, $100 million are allocated to world class public good environmental research. Assessment Schemes for Teachers' ICT competence This 2005 survey of teachers in 16 European countries demonstrates that most countries have several schemes to certify teachers' ICT competence, and tend to assess their teachers at the end of an in service teacher training programme. The reports says that teacher training policies for ICT should not be seen as a separate issue. Training policies need to be flexible and include a long term vision for teachers to identify with.
