Various authors - The Medium is the Massage
Because it's never a bad time to listen to Marshall McLuhan. "Marshall McLuhan appeared on the Dick Cavett Show in December of 1970 along with Truman Capote and Chicago Bears running back, Gayle Sayers. Both Capote and Sayers participated in the discussion with McLuhan. This recording was made on reel-to-reel audio tape in 1970 and directly transferred to computer in 2005." Via Brent on FLNW. [

Mary Madden and Susannah Fox - Riding the Waves of Web 2.0 - Pew
Another report from Pew, thiks time looking at everyone's favorite, Web 2.0. I like how the authors almost immediately strips Tim O'Reilly of the credit for having coined the term ("coined by Dale Dougherty and popularized by O'Reilly Media and MediaLive International"). And I like the way the authors deal with the definition of Web 2.0: "That the term has enjoyed such a constant morphing of meaning and interpretation is, in many ways, the clearest sign of its usefulness. This is the nature of the conceptual beast in the digital age, and one of the most telling examples of what From

Gayle Duncan - The Networking Instinct - The Empire Club of Canada Speeches
On reading some of my recent work on networks John Duncan from Regina set me this speech by his brother to the Empire Club in 2001. Dave Cormier - Rhizomes, Deleuze and Collaborative Models - Dave's Educational Blog

Message from Bob
I just received a very sweet email from Robert Anton Wilson's daughter, Christina. Here's an excerpt from what she wrote to me, along with a message for all of you that Bob dictated to her. ...We are all overjoyed as it now means that we can continue to celebrate this phase of his life in the comfort of his own home, with all the care he needs, until his passing, honored by the loving support of so, so many wondrous folks. Just last week I was sick with heartache as we were faced with giving his notice and now, the world has simply and completely - transformed. L From

Zero tolerance for innovation
Someone please help me out with this dilemma. How can one balance thinking that pushes the envelope with regulators’ penchant for confusing speculation with corporate policy? How can you speak your mind when a couple of sentences played back in court could destory your reputation? One email can put you behind bars. Investment banker Frank Quattrone [...] From
