In this project, interactive whiteboards were installed in Year 5 and Year 6 classes. Information for Students - What are human rights and why are they important? Information for Students is a web-based education resource to enable students to gain an awareness and understanding of human rights - their origin and history, the development of international human rights norms and contemporary human rights issues in Australia. It links to sections of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC) site that are relevant to students and young people and is aimed at secondary students. It complements the web-based program that HREOC has for teachers (Information for Teachers which covers a wide range of discrimination and human rights issues.
